Lay a Postgres Egg

A web Egg is compute only. A database adds the disk line shown above; Redis is priced the same as Postgres.

Storage and backups

Durable copies, priced by the gig.

Database disk
£0.50/GB /mo

The persistent volume on a Postgres or Redis Egg, added to its compute price.

Vault backups
£1/GB /mo

Durable, off-host copies of your database backups, kept on a separate machine.

Local snapshots
£0.10/GB /mo

Scheduled on-host snapshots, billed by the gigabyte actually stored. Cold and cheap.

How we compare

Flat, and cheaper once the bandwidth bill lands.

The usage-based crowd meter egress and charge per seat, so the real bill is always more than the sticker. Here is the whole picture, side by side.

Ruust prices are live. Competitor figures are indicative list prices for an always-on equivalent, converted at roughly £1 = $1.27, as of September 2026. Usage-based platforms vary with what you run; these use a 1 GB RAM / 0.5 vCPU service and 2 TB of monthly egress.

Pricing questions

The numbers, demystified.

Is egress really unmetered?

Yes. Every tier, every region, with no bandwidth line on the bill and no cap shown, because there is not one. Fair-use abuse limits aside, serve as much as you like.

What counts as compute?

Memory and vCPU. £6 per GB of RAM and £12 per vCPU floor, per month. Your CPU can burst to 4x the floor for free.

How are databases priced?

The same compute formula, plus a flat £0.5 per GB of disk for the persistent volume. Postgres and Redis are identical here.

What does a game backend cost?

A game backend is a managed Nakama Egg plus a private Postgres Egg, each priced like any other Egg. No per-concurrent-user tax, ever.

How does bring your own host bill?

A flat £2 per Egg per month on your own hardware, capped at £20 per host however many Eggs you pack on. Solo is free for one host and up to three Eggs.

Can I change size later?

Yes. Resize memory, vCPU and disk any time and the price moves with it. Cancel in a click, with no minimum term.
