The mark, the palette
and how to use them.
Everything you need to put Ruust on a slide, a site or a press page, without asking us first. If you need something that is not here, tell us and we will add it.
The mark
An egg, because the thing you deploy on Ruust is an Egg. It is one silhouette: no outline version, no alternate shape, no mascot.
The primary mark. Flat ember, on any surface that gives it contrast.

Please do
- Leave clear space around the mark of at least half its height.
- Keep the mark above 16px tall, and the lockup above 20px.
- Use the mono versions when the violet cannot be reproduced.
- Put it on a surface that gives it contrast, dark for preference.
Please do not
- Recolour it, outline it, or add a shadow or glow.
- Stretch it. Scale both axes together.
- Rotate it, or sit it on a busy photograph.
- Rebuild the lockup by hand. Use the file.
Colour
Cool near-black surfaces, one violet accent, and a small status set. Depth comes from hairline borders rather than gradients. Click any value to copy it.

Borders are white at low alpha rather than a flat grey, so they hold up on any surface: --line is rgba(255,255,255,0.07) and --line-strong is rgba(255,255,255,0.13).
Type
Three faces, all on Google Fonts, so anything made off this page can be set correctly without licensing anything.
Display, and the wordmark. Headlines and big numbers at a tight tracking of -0.03em; the wordmark is SemiBold at -0.01em. Never body copy.
Get it from Google FontsBody and interface. Subheads, buttons, labels and everything you actually read at length.
Get it from Google FontsData and labels. Commands, hostnames, hex values, status pills and anything the machine said. Uppercase labels sit at 0.24em.
Get it from Google FontsWords
Capital R, two u’s, lower case after that. It is never set in all capitals outside the mono labels. The company behind it is The Night Project.
The thing a customer deploys is an Egg, capitalised. A group of them is a Coop. Their states are incubating, hatching, hatched, cold and cracked.
